Organic Humus is widely available ready-to-go or make your own:
- 1 Can Organic Chickpeas, thoroughly rinsed
- ½ Jar Light Tahini
- 1-2 Cloves Garlic (depending on taste)
- Juice of 1 Lemon
- ½ Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Optional: 1 peeled and de-seeded avocado pear
Put everything in a food mixer/blender and blend well to the consistency of a spreadable paste (great on wholemeal toast as a snack). Add – little by little – good quality water to achieve desired consistency. Separate into portions in airtight container/s. Freeze what you will not use within the next 3-4 days (keep in airtight container in fridge).
You can adapt this recipe by replacing the chickpeas with any other well cooked bean of your choice.
