Quick Recipe for Humus

Organic Humus is widely available ready-to-go or make your own:

  • 1 Can Organic Chickpeas, thoroughly rinsed
  • ½ Jar Light Tahini
  • 1-2 Cloves Garlic (depending on taste)
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • ½ Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Optional: 1 peeled and de-seeded avocado pear

Put everything in a food mixer/blender and blend well to the consistency of a spreadable paste (great on wholemeal toast as a snack). Add – little by little – good quality water to achieve desired consistency. Separate into portions in airtight container/s. Freeze what you will not use within the next 3-4 days (keep in airtight container in fridge).

You can adapt this recipe by replacing the chickpeas with any other well cooked bean of your choice.
